The North American SAF Conference & Expo brought together the entire value chain—from airlines and energy leaders to technology innovators like Powermax—for three days of focused dialogue on a critical goal: decarbonizing aviation.
At our booth, a central question emerged: How can we scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in a way that is both sustainable and cost-effective?
We showcased a promising pathway through our BIOWATT and UFBG gasification solutions, which transform agricultural residues—often burned or left to decay—into clean syngas for SAF production. This "waste-to-wings" approach attracted significant attention, underscoring the vital role of feedstock diversification in building a resilient SAF supply chain.
What stood out most was the industry’s decisive shift from theoretical ambition to practical execution. Conversations consistently centered not on if SAF will scale, but how:
· How can feedstock supply chains be secured and optimized?
· How can system efficiency be maximized to improve affordability?
· How can policy frameworks better enable investment and accelerate deployment?
This mature, solutions-oriented mindset signals that SAF is rapidly transitioning from a niche concept to a mainstream industrial reality.
The event reinforced our conviction that advanced biomass gasification will be a cornerstone of the energy transition in aviation. We are grateful to all who visited our booth and engaged in productive discussions. The journey toward sustainable aviation is a collective effort, and we are energized to continue collaborating with partners across the ecosystem.
