On March 14, 2026, the iconic Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing launched a pioneering program to make large-scale events carbon-neutral, supported by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. 

Key highlights:

• Partnered with Beijing Green Exchange to use high-quality #CCER credits for offsetting event emissions
• Hosted its first carbon-neutral concert (March 14-15), with verified retirement certificates issued
• New industry initiative promotes transparent, accountable carbon management for major events

This pilot demonstrates how landmark venues can lead by example—turning sustainability commitments into actionable, replicable frameworks. 

By integrating voluntary carbon markets, green innovation, and public engagement, the Bird's Nest is setting a new benchmark for low-carbon event management in China and beyond.
