The Process

Pyrogreen specializes in advanced rotary kiln carbonization systems for producing high-quality biochar from a wide range of biomass feedstocks. For stable operation and consistent biochar quality, all feedstocks must be pre-dried to a moisture content of 15% or less before entering the system. Our process engineering team evaluates each feedstock’s characteristics and works closely with customers to develop an optimized system configuration, including feedstock preparation, carbonization, gas treatment and heat recovery.

Advantage:

  • Modular design for easy transportation and installation.

  • High thermal efficiency, high biochar quality and production.

  • Extremely low NOx, CO, and particulate matter emissions.

  • A drying chamber is installed to remove moisture before the feedstock enters the furnace for pyrolysis, optimizing the process flow.

  • Fully Automation.

  • No tar or liquid waste is generated.

  • Capable of processing wet feedstock with a moisture content of 30%–50% by using a pre-dryer.
